Winter Classic kicks off in Whitefish March 6

The annual Winter Classic will return to Whitefish on Thursday through Sunday, March 6-9. The charity event features well-known college and NFL football players and raises money to assist Northwest Montana families with pediatric medical-related costs not covered by insurance.

Celebrity guests this year include Denver Broncos back-up quarterback Brock Osweiler, Philadelphia Eagles safety Colt Anderson, St. Louis Rams running back Chase Reynolds, University of Montana Grizzlies head coach Mick Delaney and actor Troy Evans, who’s appeared on the “ER” television show and in the movie “Ace Ventura.”

This year’s Classic will begin with a kick-off party at Casey’s Bar on March 6 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a poker run with stops at Great Northern Bar, VFW Bar, Craggy Range, Tupelo Grille and Crush Lounge.

The public can meet celebrities at the Summit House at Whitefish Mountain Resort on Friday at 1 p.m.

The NFL Play 60 Challenge event for children will take place at the Whitefish High School gym on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

An evening of fine dining and entertainment with the celebrities will take place at The Lodge At Whitefish Lake on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Events will wrap up with a champagne brunch at the Whitefish Lake Restaurant on Sunday at 9 a.m.
