Supports Zinke

In response to Ben Long’s letter regarding Ryan Zinke’s “tirade,” as he called it, against the federal government in his patriotic and uplifting speech at Marina Cay in Bigfork, I feel it necessary to address my take on that evening’s commentary, as I was there.

I heard the voice of an honored veteran who put his allegiance to his befallen Navy SEAL heroes and friends before that of an approval of the uncooperative and less than forthcoming former secretary of state.

Mr. Zinke is searching for answers from our government agencies that any congressman should be seeking on behalf of the American public. I applaud him for serving his country first, then looking for a political arena where he can voice the concerns of the average American. I trust a man of his background infinitely more than some ex-attorney, lobbyist or career politician with a “power” agenda.

Who fights for the truths in the Bengazi affair, Middle East conflicts and terrorism on our own soil (9/11), if not someone who has fought for America behind a bulletproof vest, instead of a plush Capitol Hill desktop? It seems as if Washington has re-defined the term “diplomatic immunity.”

We have politicians running our foreign policy and making decisions that affect every American household without full disclosure or any accountability for their actions. I don’t believe Mr. Zinke is one of those people. I support him, wholeheartedly, as a genuine and true “American,” not specifically as a candidate on the Republican ticket.

P.S. He is a true “Montanan” as well. God bless America.
