CROP Walk

| December 30, 2014 1:59 PM

I want to thank this community for its support of this year’s CROP Hunger Walk. About 50 people took part in the 2014 Hunger Walk on Sunday, Oct. 5, and raised more than $5,800. More than $2,000 will be used to provide monthly Canyon community dinners in Hungry Horse on the last Thursday of each month.

The rest of the funds will be used around the United States and the world to help people learn ways to live self-sustaining lives. The funds will provide access to safe water, food and shelter and the opportunity to better themselves through education and business start-up micro loans.

Many thanks to the following community businesses and groups for their generosity: Thrivent Financial, Columbia Falls United Methodist Church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, All Saints Episcopal Church, Glacier Bank, Freedom Bank, Columbia Falls Eyecare, NAPA Auto Parts, Melby’s Home Interiors, Alpine Family Medicine, Columbia Falls Rotary Club, Outside Media, Columbia Falls Lions Club, and Super 1 Foods.

I am so fortunate that I live in such a warm and caring community. When we all work and walk together, we can help end world hunger one step at a time.
