Community Foundation relies on Bigfork's support

Happy Holidays from the Community Foundation For A Better Bigfork!  2014 was a very busy year for the CFBB.  

We continued maintaining and improving the infrastructure of our beautiful community, and undertaking activities that improve and preserve the cultural offerings, beauty and uniqueness of the broader Bigfork community.  

The CFBB was originally formed to save the old Bigfork Playhouse.  Because we were an unincorporated community, then and now, it was up to dedicated community residents to undertake and fund that important project.  Hence, the creation of the CFBB in 1970. In 2005 we changed our name to better reflect our mission and are now known as the CFBB. 

In 2014 CFBB spent nearly $90,000.00 just to maintain our community and its current look and amenities that make Bigfork the town we and our visitors love.  And, we contributed thousands of dollars more to local charities, community organizations, special events and for additional improvements to our community’s infrastructure.  

We hope you would consider making an end of the year tax deductible contribution to the CFBB so we can continue serving and improving our community. 

We have stayed true to our founder’s core values of providing the amenities and services that incorporated communities enjoy.  These include our Art and Cultural Center (which houses the Museum and Branch Library), the Town Clock, Bigfork Children’s Playhouse, Swan River Nature Trail, Sliter Park, the town dock, and our entry way signs, to name a few.  We also pay to have our streets swept and parking spaces striped, maintain downtown street lights and security cameras, build and repair our sidewalks, and keep our downtown clean and safe. The list of our tasks goes on and on. 

We also continued our role as the community’s representative to our elected officials.  We took the lead in keeping the Bigfork Green Box site, stopped the County from closing Sliter Park via “special” contributions to the County, helped the State improve access to Wayfarer’s Park, and pushed for the completion of our downtown Storm Water drainage project.

Your end of the year donation is very important!  We do not collect annual membership dues or receive any tax or special district monies.  We rely solely on individual contributions, fundraisers, gifts and grants. What the CFBB accomplishes each year is only made possible with the community’s ongoing and generous financial support.  Help us support the Bigfork area as we have in past years through your generous donation and keep us moving into the future.
