Now’s your time to shine in the spotlight.

Bigfork Community Players is having auditions for two upcoming productions, Rumors, and Jake’s Women, two plays by Neil Simon.

In Rumors, four New York society couples have been invited to the wedding anniversary celebration of Deputy Mayor Charley Brock and his wife at their country home north.

But, as the guests begin to arrive, something is amiss. All of the house staff have disappeared, Myra Brock is nowhere to be seen, and Charley is found in a stupor on the edge of his bed, covered in blood, and holding a recently fired handgun. In a classic comedy of errors, the first arrivals are unsure of what’s happened, but are determined to cover it up. As successive pairs arrive, each with their own personal political agendas, the intrigue deepens. With each couple maneuvering to simultaneously support the coverup and distance themselves from it, it’s a sticky morass demanding a truly magnificent and miraculous resolution.

The play is directed by David Vale, with assistance from James Vale and from Jim Caron.

Audition Time is Dec. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Marina Cay Resort’s Bay Lounge.

Karen Kolar will direct Jake’s Women, a serious comedy.

Jake is a writer by profession. For 30 years he’s worked eight hours a day, every day, out of an eight by ten foot office in his apartment.  In fact, he writes all the time, even when he’s not actually writing.  And he’s got a pretty active social life, too. At least in his mind. Jake can’t decide whether he’d rather keep the company of the women in his life or the women in his imagination.  Unfortunately for Jake, the women in his life are less ambivalent.

Auditions are Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. at Marina Cay, with rehearsals in starting mid-February.
