On the Ten Commandments Park

My husband and I moved here about five years ago. He is retired, and while I am still working, I look forward to when we can spend most of our time together, outdoors, enjoying this beautiful valley.

We moved here because the people are wonderful and the valley and surrounding mountains reflect the quiet beauty of a natural cathedral. While the rest of the country is crowded and rushing around, our area is a true haven to spend time reflecting on God and all his goodness, whatever your religion.  

That is why I found cover story in the Aug. 10, 2014 Daily Inter Lake about the Ten Commandments Park in Columbia Heights very offensive.

I was not aware that God needed another park. I thought we had one called Glacier National Park. And that we are supposed to be the caretakers for Him.

I find it offensive that Philip Klevmoen can blight our views of God’s true creation with these hideous, cartoon character billboards, and you hold it up as if he has done something “wonderful.” Does it maybe occur to you that he is doing this to line his own pockets? Maybe capitalize on Christ?

It’s bad enough that we have the exact same “manufactured” Ten Commandments signs plastered all over. But now this? And he wants to add more blight because he can? Is this really what God wants?

Well, when true “God loving” people start leaving the area because of blight, maybe the Inter Lake can write about that, too.
