Vote yes for school levy

| April 23, 2014 6:07 AM

If there’s one thing everyone can agree on these days, it’s that this country is facing big challenges and will continue to be challenged in the future.

To meet those challenges and protect our way of life, our nation’s citizens will need a quality education. They will need both academic skills and the kind of social skills and perseverance that comes from the other programs that the Columbia Falls High School levy will support.

The levy is intended to both shore up a recent shortfall and create new programs that will help ensure that our students are either college- or career-ready at graduation. Recent school funding bills were a step in the right direction but have allowed schools like Columbia Falls to slip through the cracks, leaving our kids with less opportunity than those in neighboring communities.

For about $25 a year for most households, we can start to turn that around and continue the positive processes that have started to help bring our community back from its recent hardships. If yo

vote absentee, you should already have your ballot. If you vote at the polls, please get there on May 6 and vote yes for Columbia Falls High School.
