Arthur Anderson

Arthur Scott Anderson, 74, passed away on March 30, 2014, at the HealthCenter Northwest in Kalispell.

He was born in McGregor, Minn., on Aug. 8, 1939, to Arthur Samuel and Evelyn Lenore (Skatt) Anderson. He moved to Montana with his family in 1942, living at Apgar in Glacier National Park. Art graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1957.

He married the love of his live, Sharon Buck, on Dec. 4, 1960, at the Little Brown Church near Bigfork.

Art served for 12 years in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. He and his wife Sharon and children moved to Great Falls in 1965 and he worked for Montana Steel.

In 1971, he and his brother Bud started Anderson Steel Supply in Great Falls, where he worked until 1985. He then moved back to Kalispell, fulfilling what he always wanted to do. He then worked with Ivan O’Neil at Kalmont Distributors, until his retirement.

He survived by his wife, Sharon Anderson, of Kalispell; son Scott Anderson and wife Michele, daughter Kelly Tiensvold and husband Mike, mother-in-law Beryl Allick and husband Sam, and sister-in-law Clara Ellen Anderson, all of Kalispell; brother-in-law Harvey Demars and wife Rita, of Helena; brother Frank Williams and wife Vivian, of Loon Lake, Wash.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great niece; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Arthur will be held at the Church of Creston on Thursday, April 3,  at 2 p.m. Private burial will take place prior to the service.
