Police calls: Men brandish pistol, slash tires downtown
Monday, Sept. 9
6:33 a.m. Two antique saddles were reported stolen from a barn off East Edgewood. They were estimated to be worth $1,500 to $2,000 each.
4:07 p.m. An intoxicated man on Denver Street was screaming obscenities at people.
4:23 p.m. Two purses were found in the bushes off Pine Avenue.
10:28 p.m. A suspicious man in a cut-off shirt was seen riding a bike up and down Kalispell Avenue. Police confiscated the bike.
Tuesday, Sept. 10
2:39 a.m. An intoxicated man was riding his bike in circles around gas pumps on U.S. 93 South.
9:11 a.m. Report of an intoxicated woman who attacked a customer and bartender downtown.
3:52 p.m. A mountain bike was stolen from East 3rd Street.
11:13 p.m. Report of child neglect on Wisconsin Avenue. A 7-year-old boy was reportedly left home alone. The child’s grandmother took custody of the boy.
Wednesday, Sept. 11
12:57 p.m. A German shepherd and schnauzer were running into traffic on Barkley Lane.
10:13 p.m. A suspicious man was lurking around a home on Silverleaf Drive.
11:53 p.m. A man refused to leave a downtown bar. Police took him to the city jail.
Thursday, Sept. 12
3:09 p.m. A woman on Baker Avenue told police someone was creeping her.
3:46 p.m. Two golf bags were found along Wisconsin Avenue.
6:18 p.m. Report of a motorcyclist speeding in and out of traffic on Wisconsin Avenue. The driver was wearing a Go-Pro helmet cam.
8:47 p.m. Eight intoxicated men were walking toward the golf course.
11:10 p.m. A disorderly man was kicked out of a downtown bar.
Friday, Sept. 13
11:27 a.m. Six chickens were loose on Colorado Avenue.
3:24 p.m. A man was seen riding a bike on Wisconsin Avenue with a rifle strapped to his back.
4:17 p.m. A man wearing a hat with a turkey feather was seen with two bikes. The reporting caller didn’t think the bikes belonged to the man.
4:49 p.m. Reckless jet skiers were reported on Whitefish Lake.
8:10 p.m. Report of a man preaching on East 1st Street with an amplifier.
8:59 p.m. A caller was upset about the religious people hanging signs all over the street.
11:26 p.m. Report of three men starting fights inside a bar on Central Avenue. They reportedly threw items into a crowd.
Saturday, Sept. 14
1:45 a.m. Report of three men stealing a three-wheel bicycle from the O’Shaughnessy Center.
9:53 a.m. Report of an ex-boyfriend threatening to kick down a garage door on East 4th Street.
10:13 a.m. Two pit bulls reportedly attacked another dog on Central Avenue.
10:44 a.m. Vehicles were broken into on East 6th Street, East 4th Street, Somers Avenue and Colorado Avenue.
8:58 p.m. A suspicious man with a stop sign was stopping traffic on Central Avenue.
Sunday, Sept. 15
7:37 a.m. The rear window of a vehicle was broken on U.S. 93 South.
10:37 p.m. Someone drained the oil from a vehicle on East 7th Street.
12:04 p.m. A cat was found on Pine Avenue making a weird noise and breathing heavily. Police took the cat to the Flathead Pet Emergency Clinic. The veterinarian recommended the cat be euthanized. The cat had no microchip so it was taken to the county animal shelter.
1:52 p.m. Report of five dogs off their leashes at the canoe park.
6:54 p.m. A woman asked police if she was allowed to drink if she was just charged with a DUI.
9:38 p.m. Bears were getting into garbage on Mountain Park Loop.
11:03 p.m. Report of two men who brandished a semi-automatic handgun and slashed the tires of four vehicles on Central Avenue. They were last seen running toward the viaduct where 6-7 shots were heard. Whitefish Police are investigating the incident.
