Lakeside Elementary will have an open house Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the school.

The school will be conducting a fundraiser in conjunction with the school’s 15th anniversary.

The public will be able to get a name engraved on a brick for $25.

Ann Gannon, music teacher at the school, said there was a brick fundraiser when the school opened in 1998. Those bricks can be viewed in the walkway in front of the school.

Funds from this year’s sale will go toward purchasing an announcement board that will be located in front of the school for passersby to read. The board will cost approximately $3,000, Gannon said.

“Every student will be making construction paper bricks with their names on them to line the hallways of our school,” Gannon said. “We will also be writing names on bricks of everyone currently on our staff and those who were a part of our staff for the past 15 years.” This includes retired teachers.

All who were involved in the building and growing of the school are welcome to attend the open house.
