Golfers compete at Ronan and West Glacier

Columbia Falls High School golfers competed in two tournaments last week. The first was an invitational in Ronan at the Mission Mountain Golf Course on Aug. 27.

The Columbia Falls boys failed to break the top 10, but Wildkat Baylee Brinton took 10th, shooting 116 for the girls. The boys were fifth overall, at 427. Hamilton won the event at 314.

On the girls side, Polson won with 369, and Columbia Falls took third at 496. The individual winner of the event for the boys was Josh Heath, of Hamilton, who shot 75. For the girls, it was Jaylin Kenney of Polson, who shot 78.

The next day, Columbia Falls hosted a tournament in West Glacier, competing against the Glacier and Flathead high school junior varsity squads.

Gabe Love won the event for the boys, shooting a season-best 77. Olivia Lewis-Peterson took third for the girls, shooting a 108. Joey Tamburelli shot a 94, and Grant Wallace shot a 95 to take fifth and sixth respectively. For the girls, Brinton shot 113 for fourth, Britney Cotton shot 114 for fifth and Shay LeFebvre shot 119 for eighth.

The team has a week off and then hosts another tournament at the Meadow Lake Golf Course on Sept. 9.
