Halloween events in Whitefish for kids and adults

Central Avenue will be bustling with spooky ghosts and goblins today as Whitefish hosts a fleet of Halloween activities and costume contests for both kids and adults.

Trick or Street is for kids

The 10th annual Whitefish Trick or Street children’s Halloween costume contest goes from 2:30-5 p.m. Bring the kids to Central Avenue and stroll the downtown businesses. Register your costume at the Park Side Federal Credit Union booth.

Mountain Mall Harvest Party

Whitefish Assembly is sponsoring a Harvest Party at the Whitefish Mountain Mall from 5-7 p.m. All children and parents are invited to this new event. There will be free hot dogs, candy, door prizes, carnival games with prizes, cotton candy, popcorn and face painting. The organizers will have plenty of food, goodies, and fun. Come register for the kid-friendly door prizes to be given away that night. This is a new event for Whitefish Assembly and it will be loads of fun. Downtown costume contest

A purse of $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded during the annual downtown Whitefish Halloween costume contest. Categories include best individual costume and best couple or group costume.

The first-place prize is $350, second-place $250, third place $100, and fourth place $50.

Contestants can register at any of the nine bars beginning at 6 p.m., and then take a judging card to be validated at the remaining eight bars. Contestants with completed judging cards should then report to the Craggy Range Bar and Grill by 9:30 p.m. for the awarding of prizes.

Participating bars include The Bulldog, The Remington, Cooper’s, Great Northern Bar, Great Northern Brewing Company , the VFW, Crush Lounge, Casey's, and Craggy Range Bar and Grill.

There is a $5 per person entry fee with all proceeds benefiting the North Valley Food Bank.

Contestants must be 21 years of age — ID required. All city laws and ordinances, including the open container law, must be observed.

Downtown live music

• Halloween at Casey’s Bar features 80s tribute band 1985. Dress up in your best costume and come out for a rocking bash.

• The Halloween Bash at Craggy Range features God Fearing Women and the Flip Wilsons at 10 p.m.

• Moonshine Mountain and Pedacter Project play at the Great Northern Bar and Grill, Whitefish, 9 p.m. Call 862-2816.

• Crush Lounge hosts open mic by Marco Forcone and Don Caverly followed by a Halloween surprise show.
