Russell Leroy Miller sentenced in pornoggraphy case

Bigfork resident Russell Leroy Miller was sentenced to pay a $10,000 fine for possession of child pornography.

Miller also received five years probation, a fine of $100, and was ordered to pay restitution of $3,218.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Missoula announced the sentence last week during a federal court session before Judge Donald Molloy.

Miller, 70, was sentenced in connection with his guilty plea to possession of child pornography.

As part of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations obtained a search warrant for Miller’s residence in Bigfork. On Feb. 23, 2012, the search warrant was served.

When interviewed, Miller admitted he downloaded files containing child pornography, according to federal prosecutors.
