Good people in the world

| October 8, 2013 2:26 PM

My husband and I are from Michigan and were visiting Glacier National Park at the end of September. While there I had a medical emergency, and I would like to thank the people who helped get me medical attention and to the hospital in a very timely manner. I know some of the names of the people but many I do not.

• Swan Mountain Outfitters: Kate, Louisa and the young lady who drove my husband from the barn to the area where I was.

• The two RNs who were on the ride with me.

• The ambulance people who came into the woods and transported me out.

• The helicopter crew who got me to the hospital.

• The Lake McDonald staff, including Gordon who helped the helicopter crew and Donna who found my husband in the lodge and helped him focus on where I was.

• The hospital emergency room staff and Dr. Scott Burry.

• The park rangers, including Steve Powers, who did an excellent job of traffic control and assisting my husband with directions to the Kalispell hospital.

• Upon our return to Lake McDonald Lodge, the staff, including Lisa, Gordon, Donna, Melinda and many others who treated us with kindness, compassion and a genuine concern for my health.

We are forever grateful. What has come out of a serious problem that fortunately got resolved are some lasting friendships and a realization that there are many good people in the world, and I was fortunate to meet several of them.

A big heartfelt thank you to each of you.
