William Frishkorn

William “Bill” Frishkorn, 67, died Nov. 13, 2013. He was born Feb. 3, 1946, in National City, Calif., to Elmer and Marjory Frishkorn. After his graduation from Spring Valley High School in 1963, he moved to Rosemont, Minn., where he lived with an aunt and uncle on their dairy farm.

In October 1964, Bill enlisted in the Air Force and was assigned to Hickham Air Field in Oahu, Hawaii. He spent his entire military career in Hawaii where he had a top security crypto clearance, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was honorably discharged in October 1968 and moved to Columbia Falls.

He and Darleen Winegar were married on Nov. 30, 1968. At age 26, with no prior carpentry knowledge, Bill built the house where he and Darleen lived and raised their three children, Rebecca, Rachel and Aaron.

He is survived by his wife; daughters Rebecca and her husband Dan, and Rachel and her husband Raj; son Aaron, and his wife, Kathy;  five grandchildren; a brother; a sister; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
