• Berry’s ice cream was on sale in Columbia Falls at the Columbia Falls Drug Co. store and at Dower & Elsethagen’s pool hall.

• Readers with land to clear were advised not to buy a lot of dynamite or an expensive stump-puller before checking out the Kirstin One-Man Stump-Puller. The next issue of The Columbian would provide a date when the Kirstin machine would be demonstrated. Geo. Anderson of Libby was the agent for Flathead County.

• Wm. Paul and his son, who have been in town the past two weeks enjoying a vacation, returned Tuesday to the State Mill, where they preside over the culinary department at the big camp.

• A dance was scheduled at Nutter’s Hall on Saturday night, May 24, nearly the last chance to swing the girls this spring. Same music, same price.

• The married men of the east side demonstrated their superiority over the single men last Sunday by defeating them at baseball by the score of 9-3. It was a good game, however, and the young fellows need not feel ashamed of their defeat.

• The entertainment given by the ladies of the Methodist Sunday school last Thursday evening was witnessed by a large crowd, which enjoyed every minute of the program. The proceeds amounted to $70.

• The Theatorium made arrangements to install a “Compensarc” to steady and provide better light on the movie screen. It will be installed as soon as it arrives from Fort Wayne, Ind.

• E. A. Paine, traveling for the General Film Co., of Butte, was in town Monday and made arrangements with the Theatorium management to show only licensed films, commencing Thursday, May 22. Some fine pictures were promised — the same as were shown at the Orpheum in Kalispell.

• The final basketball game in a series of three was played Friday afternoon in the school gymnasium between sixth and seventh graders versus eighth, ninth and 10th graders. The younger team won two out of the three games played, the score on Friday being 4 to 0. The winning team included Francis Ehrig, Stella Opalka, Marian Henley, Rachel Jordan, Etta Phillips, Marie Neilsen and Elaine Bates, captain. The losing team included Alice Wedge, Marian Ainsworth, Mabel Gensman, Marguerite Brinkerhoff, Doris Getchell and Amelia Lewis, captain.
