Island Unit Trails decision up for discussion and input
The Swan Lake Ranger District is planning for new trails that will collaborate on motorized trails in the Island Unit.
The Swan Lake Ranger District will hold a meeting to discuss development of the motorized trails in the Island Unit Trails decision at the Flathead National Forest Supervisor’s Office located at 650 Wolfpack Way, Kalispell, on Thursday, April 4 from 4-6 p.m.
Before developing the motorized trail system, the district feels it is important to discuss and develop with trail users and partners the trail design and management plans, as well as a development timeline. Discussion will be limited to the motorized routes and connector sections on the Island Unit. The interest in forming a collaborative group to guide the implementation, monitoring and management of the motorized trail system will be discussed.
Those unable to attend the meeting who wish to participate should contact the Swan Lake Ranger District Office by March 31. Comments, concerns, and questions can be sent to the Swan Lake Ranger District, 200 Ranger Station Road, Bigfork, MT 59911 or by calling 837-7500.
Communication may be faxed to 406-837-7503, or emailed to Colter Pence at cfpence@fs.fed.us or Joy Sather at jsather02@fs.fed.us.
