Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks reported last week that it had relocated a four-year-old grizzly bear captured near the lower Marias River to the North Fork of the Flathead River valley.

According to grizzly bear manager Mike Madel, the 440-pound bear had killed two lambs and a calf on June 7. The bear, which had not been caught previously, was trapped on June 9 and radio-collared.

Madel said FWP was working with the family that owned the livestock to install protective electric fencing.
