Lion's Club concerts start next week
The Columbia Falls Lions Club Summer Concert Series will begin next week. The one-hour concerts will be held at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park, in Columbia Falls, beginning at 7 p.m. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are requested. The audience is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.
June 20 - Bavarian Echoes with sounds of the Alps, German polkas, waltzes and marches
June 27 - Maw Brothers, Wyatt, Jesse and father Steve. Their debut album “Done Gone” features old time fiddle music with swing and jazz.
July 4 - A double header, Ashley Creek Ramblers with ballroom, country and swing by Roy Wilhelm, and the Flathead Valleyaires, with barbershop quartet music.
July 11 - Montana Midnite, a guitar quartet playing original arrangements from classics to jazz.
July 18 - The DLO Orchestra, Big Band royalty playing the music of Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
July 25 - The Flathead Valley Community Band, celebrating 40 years, with a repertoire ranging from marches and traditional wind band fare to contemporary works.
Aug. 1 - Columbia Falls Community Choir, with 80-plus singers joining in song.
Aug. 8 - Brass Werks playing brazen brass music, from Bach to Basie.
