WAG Race thanks
As everyone who participated can attest, the recent WAG Race was tremendous fun for all 439 runners and walkers, as well as scores of spectators.
Primary sponsor Whitefish Animal Hospital, race organizer Competitive Timing, and Whitefish Parks and Recreation all deserve huge credit for making the event possible and hugely successful. Heartfelt thanks also go to the fifty volunteers for helping create a safe and joyful day for all.
When the idea of an off-leash dog park was conceived eight years ago, it was always with the goal that it would be of use and value to our entire community. Hugh Rogers WAG Park now receives over 40,000 annual visits. It is used for human and canine socialization, meetings, events, and year-round exercise.
The park was made possible by many years of work by the Whitefish Animal Group in cooperation with the City of Whitefish, and fueled by incredibly generous community support. WAG is now working on the pond development project, the final major park component.
Thank you Myni Ferguson for your vision of this park. Thank you to all who have served as WAG board members and volunteers past and present. Thank you Karl Cozad for being the best parks and recreation director anyone could ask for. Thank you Whitefish Animal Hospital for another phenomenal event. Thank you to all who have contributed so much over the years to the unqualified success of Hugh Rogers WAG Park.
