Twins snuffed in near perfect game by Eaves
Kalispell Lakers AA pitcher Dillon Eaves had all his stuff working during Sunday’s nonconference American Legion showdown with the Glacier Twins A team at Memorial Field in Whitefish.
One after another, Eaves mowed through the Twins’ potent lineup en route to tallying a no-hitter and near perfect game. Eaves struck out 14 batters over the course of nine innings in the 7-0 victory.
He just missed out on a perfect game when the Twins’ Brandon Maassen struck out but reached first on an error by catcher Adam Frandsen.
Twins pitcher Hugh Ramlow gave up three runs in the opening frame and four in the fourth. Three fielding errors cost the Twins. Austin Robbins took over on the mound in the sixth and kept Kalispell off the board for the remainder.
The Twins next play the Lakers A team today, June 5, in Kalispell. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
