Helen Gryde and Wayne Gryde

Helen Gryde, 71, and Wayne Gryde, 74, passed away on July 9, 2013.

Helen Marie Keck was born June 9, 1942, to George and Ethel Keck in Kalispell. Later the family moved to Columbia Falls where she attended school with the Class of 1960.

She married Darrel Wilson in Oregon. They had two beautiful children, Darcy Wilson Canestro and Greg Wilson. Darrel was killed in an auto accident, and Helen headed back home to Columbia Falls where she met her husband Wayne Gryde.

Wayne Milton Gryde was born July 20, 1938, to Clarence and Ella Gryde in Kalispell. He graduated from Flathead High School with the Class of 1956 and attended the University of Montana.

He entered the Army in 1957 and served with the 101st Airborne Division and also served a tour of duty in Straubing, West Germany. He was discharged in 1960.

He began working for the Montana Highway Department in 1960, starting out in engineering and transferred to maintenance in 1963, where he worked on sections at Summit, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and finally retired as Polson section foreman in 1993.

In 1976, the family moved to Polson where Wayne and Helen lived at the time of their death.

Helen is survived by her son Greg Wilson and wife Yolanda; daughters Darcy Canestro and husband Ray, and Julie Duford and husband Dave; sisters Linda Bucher and husband Ed, Gert Seliger and husband Bob, and Doris King and husband Scott; brother Robert Keck and wife Jean; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Wayne is survived by his children Darcy Canestro and husband Ray, Greg Wilson and wife Yolanda, and Julie Duford and husband Dave; sister Avis Randall; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends.
