Bigfork resident Kevin Dixon, 48, pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of sexual abuse of children in Flathead District Court on Jan. 17.

Court documents claim Dixon has been charged at least twice before for sexually assaulting minor girls. Once for having sex with a 7-year-old girl when he was 17 and again for trying to have sex with a minor cousin when he was at least 26.

Dixon allegedly denied ever having been arrested for any other offenses, but a review of the county database revealed at least three arrests for felony theft.

According to a court document, a 9-year-old girl went with another child on Jan. 1 to give Dixon a Christmas tree that had been in her father’s apartment. Dixon allegedly “kicked out” the other child, closed the curtains and windows, and locked the door.

He then allegedly played a pornographic video for the girl, then asked her “Will you do that to me?” The girl said no and made up a lie to get out of the apartment.

The document states that before leaving, the girl took two pictures with an iPod Touch of what Dixon was showing her. A Flathead County deputy later confirmed the images showed a naked woman and people having sex.

A later search of Dixon’s home located a videotape in Dixon’s VCR. The videotape name matched a partial title shared with deputies by the girl.

During the hearing, Dixon’s attorney said there may be complications in the case regarding whether or not Dixon is competent to proceed.

If convicted, Dixon faces up to 100 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000. His next hearing is scheduled for March 6.
