The Big Mountain Ski Patrol at Whitefish Mountain Resort recently announced the recipients of their community scholarship program.

Jackson Yates will attend the Level 1 Avalanche course and David Ring will attend the Level II Avalanche course run by the Big Mountain Ski Patrol. Additionally, Libby Connor will attend a Wilderness First Aid class and Joshua Lucas will attend a Wilderness First Responder class run by Aerie Backcountry Medicine.

These scholarship awards total $1,150. The funds for course tuition are generated through the sale of ski patrol T-shirts, tax deductible donations, a raffle and a spring fundraising party. Big Mountain Ski Patrol Inc. is a non-profit organization operated by members of the ski patrol at Whitefish Mountain Resort. It was founded to provide educational opportunities for community members interested in furthering their first-aid and avalanche education.

Tax deductible donations can be made at bigmountainskipatrol.org.
