Local travelers hoping to take advantage of Allegiant’s nonstop flight to California’s Bay Area will have to sit tight for a few months.

Allegiant will temporarily suspend their route between Glacier Park International and Oakland beginning next week. Allegiant spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler confirmed the seasonal suspension and said the flight will be back on the schedule by mid-June.

The Las Vegas-based airline added the nonstop flight to Oakland this past April. One-way tickets were offered as low as $40. The travel company says their focus is on connecting small cities to large vacation destinations.

Allegiant’s other flight out of Kalispell connects to Las Vegas. That route is scheduled to continue.

The airline recently suspended flights to Los Angeles from Billings and Missoula, reportedly due to low ticket sales.
