Matt Triplett had a nice weekend at the Rocky Mountain Extreme event at Majestic Valley Arena on Feb. 15-16.

Triplett, of Columbia Falls, took fourth in the long round with scores of 80 and 76 and was tops in the short round with 88 and 87 on Friday night.

Triplett was sixth in the long round on Saturday night with a 82.5 but had a tougher time in the short round and was unable to stay on his bull.

Professional Bull Riders sanctioned the event, which is part of the Tournament Pro Division. The division allows up-and-coming bull riders like Triplett a way to make money and then qualify for the larger Built Ford Tough Series and the World Finals, which features the best riders in the world.

Triplett has been riding professionally since he graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 2010.
