Legislative session creates nuttiness instead of jobs
From the “nattering nabobs of nuttiness” aka the Montana state legislators in the 2013 session who put forth such “job-creating” bills as:
o HB358, Krayton Kerns, allow legislators to carry weapons in the Capitol;
o HB303, Krayton Kerns, give sheriffs authority over the federal government in terror investigations
o HB302, Krayton Kerns, prohibit enforcement of federal ban on assault weapons and large magazines
o HB205, Krayton Kerns, legalize hunting with silencers; HB247, Steve Lavin, legalize roadkill as food
o HB215, Edward Greef, declare the Winchester rifle as “the gun that won the West.”
I could go on.
I do give Jerry O’Neil credit for creating at least ONE job. He would give a criminal a choice of a public whipping in lieu of a jail sentence. The state would need to hire a Whipper or a Flogger. No mention of how the state would pay for such a position. Isn’t this more government, instead of less? Most candidates ran their campaigns as “job-creators”, so where are the jobs?
