Sylvia Jeanette Oberg

| February 6, 2013 8:36 AM

Sylvia Jeanette Oberg, 78, “went to be with her Lord and Savior” on Thursday, Jan. 31, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Sylvia passed away in her home, surrounded by family and under the care of hospice.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1934, in Lisbon, N.D., to Glenn and Luella Cole. Sylvia sported beautiful red hair and a passion for life from the very start.

Sylvia and her late husband, Milton, were known as the founders of M & S Meats in Rollins. After retiring, there wasn’t a day that went by that Sylvia sat idle. Playing cards, traveling and sewing were some of her favorite things to do, in addition to caring for her family and enjoying Montana’s beauty.

Sylvia is lovingly survived by her children, Jody Evenson of Fargo, N.D., Scott Oberg of Taylor, Utah, Wade Oberg of Ronan, Tammy Finney of Georgetown, Minn., Steve Oberg of Rollins, and Cliff Oberg of Alamogordo, N.M.; her sisters, Virginia Camp of Boise, Idaho, and Helen Lebo of Redondo Beach, Calif.; special people, her “guardian angel” Jo Deily of Rollins, and special companion Dwight Clark of Lakeside; and many grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Oberg of Fargo.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Sylvia’s life at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Lakeside Community Chapel.

Thoughts and prayers can be personally related to Sylvia one hour prior to the service.

Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Lakeside Community Chapel.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Sylvia’s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Sylvia’s Tribute wall, offer condolences and share memories.
