Emma Hennessey was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Whiteifsh Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 31,1912, in Memphis, Tenn., to Anna H. and Karl T. Powers.

She lived in Memphis until she was five years old, before moving to Whitefish. She spent most of her life in Montana and married her life’s mate, Ralph W. (Spike) Hennessey on May 31, 1934. To this union was born Jessie, Bonnie and Ralph.

After her children were grown Emma attended nursing school in Billings, where she received her LPN degree and worked at the Kalispell hospital until her retirement.

She was predeceased by her husband, daughter, Jessie, her parents, one brother and three sisters, and is survived by daughter, Bonnie Berger (husband, John) of Bellevue, Wash., and son, Ralph Hennessey, (daughter in law, Peggy)of Whidbey Island, Wash., as well as any grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emma was loved by many and will be sorely missed. We were all blessed by Emma (Grandma Great) and her long life. We have always considered Grandma as the “Most Beautiful Woman in the World”

There will be a viewing from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at Austin Funeral Home and a graveside service on Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Whitefish cemetery.
