Lance Walden

Lance James Walden Sr., 71, passed away at Kalispell Medical Center on Dec. 26, 2013, with his daughters by his side after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 21, 1942, in Port Angeles, Wash., but was raised in Montana. He won the Golden Gloves Championship in high school and was an avid trap shooter, winning many trophies.

Lance was a talented musician and artist, a hard-working logger, truck driver and farmer. He recently retired as a chip truck driver for Hanson Trucking in Columbia Falls.

He is survived by his two daughters, Loree Duchesne and husband Tony, and Darla; grandchildren Anthony Helland and Ariel Duchesne; brother Robert Walden and wife Lorraine; nieces Julie Foster and husband Dave, and Vickie Mode and husband Jim; and his mother Lorraine.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held in Kalispell in the spring, with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
