New Year's Eve in the Flathead
Whitefish Mountain Resort will offer several entertaining events on New Year’s Eve this year, and the SNOW bus will run extra routes after midnight.
• The New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Rail Jam will take place outside of the Ed & Mully’s restaurant in the village. Skier will start at 5 p.m., snowboarders at 5:45 p.m., with the finals at 6:10 p.m.
• The Dash for Cash race will take place at 5:30 p.m. between rail jam session outside of Ed & Mully’s. Free to enter, competitors run a wacky obstacle course for a chance to win $100.
• A torchlight parade and fireworks display will take place above Ed’s Run after the rail jam at 6:30 p.m.
• The La Concinando band will perform a free Latin show at Ed & Mully’s from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
• The Bierstube will present live music by 20 Grand at 10 p.m. Pre-purchase tickets at the Bierstube for $25 — it will sell out. Call 862-1993.
Other locations around the valley will have New Year’s parties.
• My True Freedom will play at the Stillwater Bar, near Olney, from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
• Jameson and the Sordid Seeds and the Flip Wilsons will play at the Craggy Range, in Whitefish, starting at 10 p.m.
• The Crush Lounge, in Whitefish, will host their New Year’s Eve Exclusive 100 party with music by 1985 the band. There will be an oyster bar, photo booth, sparkling toast at midnight. Tickets are $60.
• The Copper Mountain Band will play at the Great Northern Bar, in Whitefish, starting at 9 p.m.
• The New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at the Boat Club, at The Lodge At Whitefish Lake, in Whitefish, will include live music by Billy Angel, fireworks and a celebration until 2 a.m.
• First Night Flathead 2014 marks their 15th annual community New Year’s Eve gala with an alcohol-free and family-oriented entertainment program of art, live music and activities at various downtown Kalispell businesses and community venues from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. For more information, visit online at www.firstnightflathead.org.
