Harry Arbogast

Harry “Bob” Robert Arbogast, 77, of Myerstown, Pa., formerly of Canton, Pa. and Hungry Horse, died Nov. 27, 2013, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown, Pa.

Born in Ralston, Pa., on March 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Amy (Twist) Arbogast.

A 1953 graduate of Canton High School, he graduated from Bloomsburg State University in 1957 with bachelor degrees in elementary and special education.

He was a special education teacher in the Canton school district for five years and later the ELCO School District, in Myerstown, for 25 years, retiring in 1987.

After retirement, he was a Glacier National Park ranger and volunteered at the Montana State Veterans Home, where he was also an activities employee.

He also worked for Montana public schools, teaching elementary art classes, was a volunteer EMT and EMT trainer, and volunteered with the Lebanon Community Theatre, designing and constructing sets. He enjoyed backpacking and hiking.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Arbogast.

He is survived by a brother, Glen, husband of Pamela Arbogast, of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, Sharon Bragg, of New Hampshire; and two nieces and one nephew.

Interment will be in the Grover Cemetery, Canton, Pa.
