Raymond Sanford Jr.

Raymond Lee Sanford Jr., 74, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

He was born Aug. 31, 1938, in Tulsa, Okla., to Raymond Lee and Myrtle Irene (Rinehart) Sanford.

He was married to Rosemary for 22 years, and from that union they had one son and two daughters. In June of 1981, he married Sondra “Sandy” Sanford who preceded him in death.

He worked as director of transportation for Plum Creek Timber in Columbia Falls.

He is survived by sons Scott Sanford and wife Kimberly, of Frisco, Texas, and Sam Carter and wife Sabrina, of Mesquite, Texas; daughters Suzanne Sanford, of Dallas, and Stephanie Kaufert and husband Bobby, of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sister SueAnn Darling and husband Cliff, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at noon.
