Jeanette Mary (Christensen) Mortensen

Jeanette Mary (Christensen) Mortensen, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Whitefish on Aug. 11, 2013. She was born on May 18,1920 in Hancock, Wisc., to Ira and Esther (Briggs) Christensen.

After moving to Washington as an adult she attended Whitman Business College. She retired from GTE telephone company in 1988. She moved to Montana in 1996 with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and son Jerry. She is survived by her daughte-in-law Margo; grandson Lance and wife Kelly; granddaughter Marshauna; and great-grandchildren Trent and Hailey. As well as brother Ben and wife Roberta Travis and sister Darlene Larson, many nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations on her behalf to Friends of Hospice at 29 2nd St. E. Kalispell, MT 59901. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Frontier Hospice for taking such great care of “Granny.” Austin Funeral Home is caring for the family.
