Wave Ryders place in state long course meet
The Wave Ryders swim team placed well at the recent Montana Summer Long Course State Championships in Bozeman.
The boys team tallied 99 points to finish in eighth place, while the girls racked up 116 points to finish in seventh.
Caroline Dye picked up gold medals in five events. She won the female 10-and-under 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 50 butterfly. She took second in the 50 breaststroke. Dye set seven club records during the long course season.
Colton Babcock picked up two gold medals for the Ryders. He won the male 13-and-under 200 fly and 100 fly. Babcock was second in the 100 breaststroke and 800 freestyle and third in the 400 freestyle. Babcock set six club records during the long course season.
Jacob Henson made the podium in three of his events. He took second place in the male 10-and-under 200 intermediate medley, 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle.
Hannah Lally made the podium in five events. She took second in the female 10-and-under 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 200 IM.
Madeline Muhlfeld landed on the podium in three events. She took second in the female 8-and-under 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke and third in the 50 freestyle.
Matthew Perez swam well in all seven of his events in the competitive male 11-12 age bracket. He was fourth in the 50 backstroke, 50 fly, and 100 backstroke.
Molly Ragan had a strong race in the 200 freestyle, placing sixth among girls in the 11-12 age group.
