11:26 a.m. A baby was accidentally locked inside a running vehicle. On Star was able to unlocked the car.
11:33 a.m. Report of a man with a warrant for his arrest who left the hospital with an IV catheter still in his arm and no shoes. He was in the hospital for a drug overdose.
11:45 a.m. An aggressive dog on Houston Point Drive knocked down a boy and bit him.
2:08 p.m. A woman driving an old beater peeled out of the hospital parking lot after stating she was in too much pain. She was last seen drinking an amber colored liquid out of a gallon container.
5:06 p.m. Children attending a day camp at City Beach reported seeing a naked man walking around in his camper.
7:36 p.m. Report of people on Baker Avenue violently restraining the driver of a yellow sports car with a fin on the back. Someone pulled the keys out of the ignition and threw them on the ground.
9:37 p.m. Report of a husband and wife arguing loudly on Colorado Avenue.
9:40 p.m. Fireworks reported on West Second Street.
10:41 p.m. A group of 20 kids hanging out at a parking lot on U.S. 93 South. They were squealing their tires and talking about an 18-pack of beer.
Tuesday, July 30
6:30 a.m. Report of an employee on Central Avenue who possibly stole $5,000.
6:50 a.m. $200 was stolen from the register of a business on East Second Street.
3:52 p.m. Report of a man recklessly driving a muddy Subaru though the mall parking lot. He changed clothes and ran into a store.
6:53 p.m. Report of an intoxicated driver on Baker Avenue who urinated on himself.
9:25 p.m. Squatters were reportedly living up the North Fork Road.
Wednesday, July 31
10:34 a.m. Report of a man involved in a major motorcycle accident who was upset that his mother sent him flowers. He believed the flowers were sent to agitate him. A card with the flowers read “Mom.”
12:54 p.m. A vehicle slipped out of gear and wrapped around a tree off Mountainside Drive.
12:58 p.m. Kids were recklessly driving a go-cart on Dakota Avenue.
12:59 p.m. A mountain lion was spotted behind a lodge on East Lakeshore Drive.
2:28 p.m. Report of a man who gave alcohol to an 18-year-old woman.
4:15 p.m. A man who was away for two years returned home to find an abandoned vehicle in his driveway.
5:46 p.m. Report of a deer with a rope around its neck.
7:35 p.m. Report of a man on Ashar Avenue who allegedly threaten to put a bullet in the head of the next person that came to his door. The man was taken to the hospital.
7:36 p.m. A couple was arguing on Central Avenue.
9:05 p.m. Report of $50 stolen from a store on U.S. 93 South.
Thursday, Aug. 1
12:04 a.m. Noisy skateboarders were reported in the mall parking lot.
1:08 a.m. A man with a history of burglary, drug use and assault asked police if he had a warrant for his arrest. If so, he was going to turn himself in.
1:40 a.m. A woman was found passed out at a park on Iowa Avenue.
7:50 a.m. An elderly woman with Alzheimer’s was wrapped in a blanket and looking for her lost dog and her daughters house. She was taken to the hospital where she was reunited with her family.
8:39 a.m. Report of a man on East 2nd Street throwing his wife’s items into the yard. The woman was locked out of the house.
9:23 a.m. A woman told police she was assaulted with a broom.
2:30 p.m. It appeared someone tied a fawn to a tree off Bay Point Drive. The fawn’s mother chewed part of the rope to get it free from the tree, but the rope was still around its neck. Fish, Wildlife and Parks were called.
7:23 p.m. A guest at a lodge left behind his Beretta Storm 9mm pistol.
9:40 p.m. A resident on Spokane Avenue had a woman staying with him in his fifth wheel. When she moved out he found a pawn ticket for his generator. It cost him $180 to get it back.
11:40 p.m. Report of two girls spraying painting a car on U.S. 93 South. The substance wasn’t spray paint and likely won’t damage the car.
Friday, Aug. 2
10:40 a.m. A woman on Iowa Avenue said her boyfriend kicked her out of the house.
2:59 p.m. A woman was in tears and frightened when she learned that a man was released from jail.
4:31 p.m. Someone vandalized the phone utility box of a home on Scott Avenue.
9:03 p.m. Report of a man on East 2nd Street knocking on a door and yelling at a woman.
Saturday, Aug. 3
2:09 a.m. An intoxicated woman on Central Avenue ran into a pole. She had a cut above her eye.
8:32 a.m. Report of a man at the police station who had his car keys taken by police the previous night. His keys were not returned because he was still intoxicated.
9:01 Oil and gas scum was reported on the lake.
9:47 p.m. Fireworks were reported on Karrow Avenue.
10:13 p.m. An intoxicated man was out of control on Baker Avenue. The man’s mom said he gets disruptive when he’s drunk.
11:24 a.m. Residents on Iowa Avenue were playing Frisbee when a neighbor’s dog broke a window and cut his leg.
Sunday, Aug. 4
1:31 a.m. A husband and wife were arguing on Wisconsin Avenue. They were going to walk to the lake and work things out.
3:29 a.m. A caller on Baker Avenue said the person who stole her car drove through the yard.
5:03 a.m. A caller on Baker Avenue said someone threw a pebble at her window.
12:37 p.m. Two mountain bikes were stolen from a garage on East 7th Street. The bikes were locked up.
8:54 p.m. Neighbors on Copperwood Court were having a verbal dispute over their dogs.
11:01 p.m. Three men were fighting a bouncer at a bar on Central Avenue.
11:27 p.m. Report of The Ride Guy driving recklessly on Big Mountain Road and using a flashlight to impersonate law enforcement. The Ride Guy reportedly told police the flashlight was being used inside the vehicle as a dance party. He said he would refrain from using the light as an attempt to entertain his customers.
Monday, Aug. 5
3:02 a.m. Report of five intoxicated Canadians at City Beach.
— Editor’s note: Last week’s police log included an entry about a pair of suspicious kids who claimed to be on a speech and debate team. The kids in question were reportedly in their 20s and were selling books. Whitefish High School officials let us know there are no WHS speech and debate fundraising events currently happening.
