C-Falls swimmers sixth at state

The Columbia Falls Swim Team took second among Division A towns and sixth overall at the Montana Federation of Swimmers state meet Aug. 3-4 in Sidney.

There were familiar names on the leaderboard for Columbia Falls. Tyler Langton and Bubba Loyda led the boys squad, scoring 40 points apiece for the team. Jessica Loyda was the top girl for the team with 34 points.

Langton won the boys 9-10 age group 50 meter freestyle with a time of 34.93 seconds and the 50 backstroke at 42.86. Bubba Loyda won the 11-12 age group 50 meter freestyle at 30.74 and the 50 butterfly at 34.59.

Zane McCallum won the 8 and under 25 meter backstroke at 22.69. Zayne Friar won the boys 13-14 age group 100 butterfly with a 1:13.86 finish.

The boys won the 9-10 age group 100 meter medley relay and the 11-12 age group 200 medley relay.

The state meet marked the end of the season for the program.
