Eleanor Landsberger

Eleanor (Stramer, Shea) Landsberger, 91, passed away peacefully at the home of her son Bernie Shea in Polson on April 12, 2013.

She was born Nov. 2, 1921, the oldest child of Matt and Clara Stramer, of Hazelton, N.D.

Eleanor graduated from Hazelton High School in 1939. She attended Valley City State College and taught in a one-room country school near Hazelton.

In 1947, she married James Shea; together they raised eight children, and farmed on the Shea family homestead until Jim’s death in 1963.

In 1975, she married Francis Landsberger and moved to his orchard on Finley Point north of Polson, where she lived until the time of her death.

She is survived by her brother Bill Stramer; sisters, Bertha Lunzer, Lucille Hogan and Lola Karls; children Joe Shea and wife Pat, of Hazelton, Pete Shea, of East Glacier, Teresa Johnson and husband Virgil, of Great Falls, Denis Shea and wife Connie, of Post Falls, Idaho, Nick Shea and wife Barb, of Saint Maries, Idaho, Mary Burgess and husband Jack, of Columbia Falls, Ann Creighton and husband Eric, of Kalispell, and Tina Shea and husband Bernie, of Polson; 39 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, in Post Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Saint Paul’s Catholic Cemetery.
