Leonard Holcomb

Leonard M. “Bud” Holcomb, 89, passed away April 2, 2013, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

Bud was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Colburn, Wis., and raised on the North Fork above Polebridge.

He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as an airplane armorer - gunner 612, flying out of England.

Bud owned and operated his own paint contracting business for almost 60 years in the Flathead Valley. He loved to hunt, fish and go rock hounding.

Bud married Cleo B. Hailey in January 1946 in Kansas City, Kan. They recently celebrated their 67th anniversary.

He is survived by his wife Cleo; son Lyman M. Holcomb and wife Elsie; daughter Linda Zizz and husband William; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held April 13, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalispell.
