| October 31, 2012 10:02 AM

Vickie Kay Brockel, 60, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24 peacefully at home in Kalispell. She was born April 15, 1952 in Tacoma, Wash. Soon after, her mother moved home to Whitefish where Vickie grew up and lived most of her life.

Vickie graduated from Whitefish High School and went on to spend her life touching the lives of people in multiple roles. She was a master hair stylist, caregiver, seamstress, customer care representative, superstar crotchetier and loved to cook.

The light of Vickie’s life was her sweet dog, Tequila. For many years, Tequila was always at her side and putting a smile on her face. She was also very proud of her two nephews, Joel and Kellen.

Health issues limited Vickie’s reach in life for the past several years, but she never gave up fighting a valiant fight.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Jolene Brockel, and baby brother, John.

Vickie is survived by her father, Lee Brockel of Whitefish; her sister, Teri Sunell and husband Conway of Madison, Wis.; two nephews, Joel Barranger and Kellen Barranger both of Portland, Ore.; numerous other relatives and her puppy dog, Tequila.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
