There is only one candidate for Senator that will not support Harry Reid

I want to thank you (The Daily Inter Lake) for the opportunity to attend the Senate debate on Sunday, Oct. 14.

At the debate, Senator Jon Tester emphasized two campaign strategies. First, Tester tried very hard to distance himself from President Obama and his policies. Secondly, it is his position that he is the candidate that can work together with both sides to solve our problems.

Unfortunately Senator Tester did support most of the President’s and the Democrat Party policies that have contributed to our problems. Remember that Senator Tester was elected, and the Democrats took control of both Houses of Congress, almost two years before the recession started.

At that time we also experienced the financial meltdown and the housing crisis. Since then Senator Tester’s and President Obama’s policies have resulted in the weakest recovery from a recession since the great depression.

As to his second strategy, how can Senator Tester work together with both sides, as long as Harry Reid is Senate majority leader?  Senator Reid has said on many different occasions, to anyone who asks, that he will under no circumstances work with Republicans.

Many of Senator Tester’s work-together issues require a budget. It only takes 51 Senators to pass a budget. Yet even with a large majority of Democrat Senators,  the majority leader has not allowed a vote on the budget for three years.

Please do not let Senator Reid prevent the next administration’s economic recovery efforts.  Senator Tester, if reelected, will support Senator Reid.

A vote for Dan Cox will only help Jon Tester win.  There is only one candidate for Senator this election that will ensure the newly elected Senator from Montana will not support Harry Reid for majority leader. That candidate is  Denny Rehberg.
