Samuel Barger

Samuel Wells Barger, 94, of Columbia Falls, died Oct. 14, 2012, with his daughters at his bedside.

He was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Howard, S.D., to Samuel Wells and Harriett Barger. He married Verona Hyatt on Aug. 6, 1939, in Billings.

He served in the Army during World War II and was in the Pacific when the war ended. Before moving to Columbia Falls, they lived in Hungry Horse. He was a member of Whitefish Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by daughters Valaura Steele and husband David, of Lacey, Wash., Orlynda Goodman and husband Bob, of Columbia Falls, LaDonna Richardson and husband Rod, of Terrebonne, Ore., and Sonja Barger, of Beaverton, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held for the family.
