Supports Jordan

| October 18, 2012 7:51 AM

Given Cal Scott’s bankruptcy record, I am surprised he is touting his business background. Anyone who racks up over $200,000 in unpaid debt while responsible for 22 credit cards fails to pass the smell test for financial common sense.

Given Scott’s financial record, it is no wonder one of his first acts as Flathead County Commissioner was to vote for a pay increase. Most troubling is that he never revealed his financial problems to the folks considering his appointment as commissioner.

Mr. Scott seems to have trouble being up front about his background. Gil Jordan, Scott’s opponent, has a proven record of being a financial conservative. Gil administered a million dollar annual budget with 40 employees while technical director for the La Mirada Civic Theatre before moving to the Flathead in 1985.

He is a firefighter and secretary-treasurer of the Coram-West Glacier Volunteer Fire Department. Since becoming the executive director of the Northwest Montana Historical Society and the Museum at Central School in Kalispell in 2005, the organization has eliminated its debt and increased its membership. Gil has one credit card that he pays monthly with no interest or penalty payments.

Gil Jordan is the true financial conservative. He deserves your vote.
