Wildcat speakers win at Missoula tournament

The Columbia Falls speech and debate team took first among Class A schools at the Garden City Tournament on Nov. 9 and 10.

The Wildcats scored 54 points while Hamilton took second with 37.5 points.

“Our team really pulled together on Saturday with students in semifinals in every event,” coach Tara Norick said.

The Cats had first-place finishes by Meredith Stolte in oratory, Yeo Chung in expository and Mason Gedlaman in impromptu speaking.

The Cats were up against tough Class AA competition as well as two Class B schools.

The Cats will head to Hamilton this weekend for their first Class A meet.
