47 percent revisited

Some of you may remember my letter about Gov. Mitt Romney’s comments that 47 percent of Americans don’t pay taxes and are essentially on some form of government assistance and feel victims of government.

I vote Republican consistently, and was thrilled to hear Karl Rove and Dick Morris assure us on days preceding the election that the Republicans would win by a landslide. Looking at the polls for the battleground states I couldn’t see it, but these two guys are much smarter than I.

Today, I was amazed that Fox News had these same two guys explaining what went wrong! How in the world would they know when they were so wrong about the election to start with.

I think the take away from all of this is that until the chief Republican architects aren’t old, angry, white guys like Rove and Morris, it is unlikely that the Republicans will do much better, because they simply don’t understand the 47 percent.
