Banff films

Flathead Nordic Backcountry Patrol will present the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour as a fundraiser at Flathead High School on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 12 and 13, at 7 p.m. The two-day film festival tours about 390 communities and 35 countries across the globe featuring the most inspiring action, environmental and adventure films from the prestigious festival in Banff. Different films will be shown each night. Tickets are $14 available at Rocky Mountain Outfitter in Kalispell, the Sportsman Ski Haus in Kalispell and Whitefish, and Runner-Up Sports and the White Room, both in Whitefish. Bob event

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation will hold its annual Voices of the Wilderness fundraiser event at the Alpine Ballroom, 333 Main Street, in Kalispell, on Friday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. Guest speaker Doug Chadwick will talk about “Grizzly Bears of the Gobi Desert.” There will be a silent art auction. Lake meeting

The Flathead Basin Commission will meet at the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation office, 655 Timberwolf Parkway, in Kalispell, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The agenda includes FBC administration, updates from monitoring and transboundary committees, a discussion of the FBC legislative agenda, focusing on Aquatic Invasive Species, an overview of priority projects by Flathead County planning director BJ Grieve, a talk by Lex Blood about the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem Education Consortium, and a talk by Robin Kelson, from Algae Aqua Culture Technology.

Outdoor films

Outside Media, a public relations company in Columbia Falls, and Bluebird Guides, a Whitefish-based backcountry ski touring company, will present the fourth annual Whitefish Mountain Films as a fundraiser for the Whitefish Trail. It will begin with Matchstick Productions’ “Superheroes of Stoke” at the Bierstube, in Big Mountain Village, on Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 at The White Room in Whitefish. That will be followed by a full evening of outdoor adventure edits featuring climbing, skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, kayaking and fly fishing at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. A $5 donation will be requested. Raffle tickets are $1 apiece. Food and beverages will be available for purchase before the films and during intermission.

Slide show

Wildlife photographer Tom Ulrich will present a slide show about his many trips to South America’s Pantanal area during Flathead Audubon’s general meeting on Monday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at their new location in the Gateway Community Center, in Kalispell.
