The Glacier Twins AA Legion baseball club dropped a pair of close games on the road last week.

A late-game lead slipped away at Eureka on May 23 in a 7-11 loss to the Kootenai Valley Rangers.

The Twins led 4-1 in the early innings. Nathan Carr had two RBIs, including a single to center field in the first inning that scored Peter Seymour and Garrett Houston. Carl Talsma tallied an RBI to left field in the second inning to score Shane Marcial.

Kootenai rallied in the fourth when Kade Davis crushed a two-run homer to left field. The Rangers took the lead at 4-6 in the sixth.

The Twins fought back to tie the game at 6-6 after an RBI single from Corey Davis in the seventh and a sacrifice fly from Talsma in the eighth.

The Rangers put the game away in the bottom half of the eighth with five runs. The Twins had two errors and a passed ball in the inning.

Talsma and Carr each finished with two RBIs. Connor Donahue, Seymour, Isaac Venezio and Talsma each pitched two innings on the mound. Donahue tallied five strike outs and allowed one run.

The Twins trailed from start to finish on Saturday as they took a non-conference loss 1-4 at Coeur d’Alene. The Lumberjacks scored in the first, second and fifth innings before the Twins tallied their single run in the sixth.

The Twins are now 5-15 overall. They host Kalispell in a conference game Thursday at 6 p.m.
