Memorial Day weekend racing
The Premiere racing division at Montana Raceway Park will take to the banked asphalt oval this Memorial Day weekend.
The Kalispell Toyota Super Late Models will kick off a six-race series on Saturday night. Cars in this elite division feature full fiberglass bodies, fabricated chassis and engines with more than 500 h.p.
The defending champion, Ryan Wells will return to protect his title in the division. He’ll have to stay on top of the action as a number of others will be vying for his position, including David Garber, Braden Havens and Jeff Little from Spokane and Trevor Emond, the 1998 Coors Light Montana 200 Champion Tim Elliot, and Tim Johnson from Canada.
The hometown boys will make a strong showing, including Bodie Morton, Billy Salmonsen, Agni Howell, Wrango West, Troy Schweigert, Alex Lessor, Giles Thornton and Corey Wolfe.
Other classes racing this weekend include the Bombers and the Hobby Stocks. Two weeks ago, Kelly Dupuis took the checkered flag in the Bomber main event, but failed to go to post race tech. This error allowed Zach Mongan to claim first place. Expect to see a tight battle in this division as Dupuis wants to correct his mistake and claim another victory.
In the Hobby Stock Division, Ed Linn and Dustin Martel come into the weekend tied for first in points. Close racing action will happen as they drivers go at it for top bragging rights.
Time trials begin at 6 p.m., and racing begins at 7p.m. For information and tickets, visit online at www.montanaracewaypark.com or call 406-257-RACE (7223).
