Dean’s lists

Laurie Burgess, of Columbia Falls, was named to the dean’s list at the University of Mary, in Bismarck, N.D., for the fall 2011 semester.

Amanda Milliard was named to the dean’s list at the University of Montana-Billings for the fall 2011 semester.

James Nichols, of Columbia Falls, was named to the 2011 fall semester President’s Honor Roll at the University of Great Falls.

Sydney Taylor, of Columbia Falls, was named to the president’s list at Gonzaga University. Shannon Hawkinson and Ariel Ramstad, of Columbia Falls, and Casey Hebert, of Hungry Horse, were named to the dean's list.

Amanda Chapman and Tavia Fields, of Columbia Falls, were named to the winter 2011 dean's list at Eastern Washington University.

Military news

Navy Seaman Recruit Tessa Gray, a 2011 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, in Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Gray completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
