Michael Ban
Michael A “Oso” Ban, 81, passed away June 14, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home in Martin City.
Mike was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Duluth, Minn., the son of John and Katica (Sekulic) Ban. Mike’s family moved to Mullan, Idaho, when he was 15 where he finished school and started his career in mining. Being a MNSHA inspector and mining took Mike many places in the United States. He also supervised mining six years in Peru and Argentina.
In 1994, Mike married the love of his life, Molly Foley. Upon retirement, Mike and Molly moved to Montana and created a life between Baja, Mexico, and their new residence in Martin City. Mike’s world revolved around his family, and he was his happiest when surrounded by family sharing his knowledge and experiences. He enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He will be missed by his family, wife Molly; son Michael Ban and wife Ramona, of Hayden, Idaho; daughter Lavonne Raeann Vendetti Chisolm and husband David, of Minnesota; daughter Dianne Ban Chisolm, of Minnesoa; son Anthony Ban and wife Gabrielle, of Ocean View, Del.; daughter Luvy Ban Mori and husband Robert. of Lima, Peru; son Larry Milner and wife Theresa, of Thompson Falls; daughter Willy Bloom and husband Dan, of Thompson Falls; and son Patrick Milner and wife Stacy, of Thompson Falls. Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss their grandpa. He will be missed by friends all around the world.
